Exterior Spider Defense
You received a quote for this service. This guide explains what we do, how we do it, why spiders leave, and how long it lasts, so you know what to expect.
In short
- We treat spiders from the outside only. We do not spray inside the house.
- We knock down webs, then treat the spots spiders like to sit.
- We use a botanical plant-oil product.
- You should see fewer webs right away.
- The treatment typically holds on those outside surfaces for several weeks.
- If those treated areas pick back up within 30 days, we come back.
What we do
We reduce spider activity around your home. That means the places you actually see them: eaves, corners, porches, decks, garage exteriors, the foundation, and docks when that is part of the job.
The goal is fewer spiders and fewer webs around the house.
What we do not do
- We do not spray inside.
- We do not bait. Spiders hunt live insects. They do not work a bait station the way ants do.
- We do not fog the whole woods or chase every spider on the lake. We focus on the outside of your home.
How we do it
- We walk the property and look where the spiders and webs actually are.
- We knock down webs and egg sacs first. Spray sitting on old webbing does little.
- We treat the clean surfaces with a botanical plant-oil product: eaves, porch and deck ceilings, corners, window and door frames, around lights, garage exteriors, and the foundation.
- We pay attention to porch and garage lights. Bugs at lights are spider food.
- If a dock is part of the job, we can treat it. The product we use is suited to lake homes.
Why spiders do not like it, and why they leave
Spiders hunt from webs. They sit in quiet corners, eaves, and porch ceilings.
We take the webs down. That removes the hunting setup they already built.
We treat those surfaces. Spiders walk and sit on eaves, corners, and porch ceilings. When they contact the treated surface, the botanical plant-oil product affects them. Those same spots also become a poor place to spin a new web.
How long it lasts
You should see fewer webs the same day, because we take them down.
The treatment typically holds on those outside surfaces for several weeks. Rain and strong sun can shorten that.
If significant spider activity on the treated exterior areas returns within 30 days, Nature Spray will return to inspect and retreat those areas as appropriate. If it picks back up after that, call us and we can help.
This is one visit, not a monthly plan. If you want the porch kept down later in the season, we can schedule another visit.
What to expect after we leave
The porch, eaves, and other treated spots should look and feel much cleaner.
An occasional spider outdoors can still show up. That is normal around a lake home. Call us if the same treated spots get busy again.
Please do not power-wash eaves, porch ceilings, or the foundation right after the visit. Light rain is fine.
People and pets should stay off treated surfaces until they are dry.
